Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment

Lieutenant Colonel Bryson W. Shipman commissioned as an Infantry officer from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2008. LTC Shipman served as a Platoon Leader in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and as a Ranger Instructor at 4th Ranger Training Battalion at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served as a Company Commander in the 1st Cavalry Division and in the 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas.
LTC Shipman served as the Battalion Executive Officer for 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. LTC Shipman then served as Aide-de-Camp to the United States Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority in Jerusalem. He most recently served as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General of U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa in Vicenza, Italy.
LTC Shipman deployed to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment. He also deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division's Immediate Response Force to the Middle East in January 2020 following escalating tensions with Iran.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College and holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Webster University.
LTC Shipman recently married the former Callie Carmichael of Charleston, South Carolina.
